Pressreader gives you access to most of New Zealand daily and weekly papers. It also gives you online access to over 1000 national and international newspapers from 82 countries, displayed in their original format and accessible by country, language or title.

You need to select the sign in button in the top right corner.

Select the Library or Group button and then ensure that you are logging into Library - Public - Upper Hutt Library (offsite)

  • Enter your library card and pin number or password. 

  • You will need to tick the checkbox stating 'I agree to allowing PressReader to verify and exchange my registration with my public library.

  • Select the green log on button.

  • A pop up box will appear. At the top of this box will be the words PressReader HotSpot. Below this, is a yellow stripe with the words Complementary access: 29 days and 23 hours left. You will have access to PressReader for 30 days before you have to relog onto PressReader.

  • Select the green Select Publication to search PressReader.

  • Note: You can access PressReader on either Library Chromebooks or online on your own device.

You can also access Pressreader through the Pressreader App.

With the Pressreader App, you get same day access to full-page replicas of newspapers & magazines from NZ and around the world in 60+ languages.

To use the Pressreader App:

Search Apple Store, Google Play store for Pressreader App and download the App.

  • At the bottom right of your screen, click the sign-in icon.
  • Select Libraries and Groups and search for Upper Hutt Libraries.
  • Enter your library card number and pin/password.
