Upper Hutt Libraries reopen Thu 14 May.
Normal hours resume with limited services and Click & Collect options.
View updates on Library Service at Level 2.

Library facilities remain closed during Level 3.
All items on loan are extended until the Library reopens, please keep them safe with you at home.
Return slots are closed and there are no overdue fines during this time, do not return any items.
We've got some new online programmes you can join, as well as our digital resources.

Is Upper Hutt Libraries closed?
Yes, all branches of Upper Hutt Libraries are closed.
Will I have access to books while the Libraries are closed?
Unfortunately there's no access to our print collections during this time.
Check out our awesome Digital Resources online. You can read eBooks, listen to Audiobooks, watch movies and more! You will need your library card number and password.

What happens if I have items on Loan?
Items on Loan are now extended until 30 June.
Will I be fined if I can’t return my items by the due date?
There are no overdue fines during this time.
Please keep your items at home until Upper Hutt Libraries reopen.
What do I do if I want to return an item during the closure time?
Do not return your items before 30 April.
Return Bins are closed, including Pinehaven Library Return Bin.
I have items on hold, what happens to them?
Items you were unable to pick up before the closure, will remain on the shelf for you.
All items on Hold are frozen until we reopen, your place in the queue stays the same.
Can I still access Upper Hutt Libraries online?
Our Digital Collection is open 24/7, you can access these free with your Library card and password.

Can I sign up to a Library membership online during this closure?
Yes you can sign up for a Digital Library Membership. This allows you free access to all our digital resources.
I forgot my Library Card password, how can I login?
You can reset your password, with access to your email. If you don't know your Library Card number, email:firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are programmes and events still going ahead?
All events are cancelled during this closure time.
I normally have items delivered to me from the Library. Will I still be able to access these services?
Delivery services are not running during this closure time.
Is Pinehaven Library open?
All Library branches are closed until further notice.
Can I access the free wifi outside the Libraries?
Wifi is disconnected during this time. We encourage you to stay home and stay safe.
Check if you're eligible for a free Skinny Jump modem at home.
Can I still access Heritage and Archives services?
We have an amazing online collection of heritage resources on Recollect. For more information, can contact the Recollect Team here.

Covid-19 - Library Update: Mon 23 March 2020
All branches of Upper Hutt Libraries are closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
If you have items currently on loan, we are extending them until 30 June 2020.
You can return items through the returns slots at our Central and Pinehaven branches.

Upper Hutt Libraries - Closed
We are continuing to monitor and take advice from the Ministry of Health in regard to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Following today's briefing from the Prime Minister, Upper Hutt City Council is closing all public facilities effective Sunday 22 March.
Upper Hutt Libraries will provide more information on Monday 23 March.

Covid-19 - Library Update: Fri 20 March 2020
Upper Hutt City Council want to reassure customers that we are taking a sensible and vigilant approach to the continuing situation regarding the COVID-19 virus.
We are continuing to align our practices with guidance from the Ministry of Health.
Please do not visit our premises or attend events of any size if you are unwell, have recently arrived in New Zealand from any country except those listed in Category 2 on the Ministry of Health website (excluding airport transit), have been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or been asked to self-isolate.
Upper Hutt Libraries are open:
- All high-use surfaces are wiped regularly, throughout the Libraries.
- Hand sanitiser and cleaning wipes are available for our customers.
- All Chromebooks (laptops) are cleaned after each use.
- All toys have been removed from the children’s areas.
