Joining the Library

 

Getting a card – Adult (over 16)

Come to the Library and bring:

  • ID which shows your name and signature

You can fill out an online registration form. You will be given a temporary ID number; bring this number and your ID to the Library to receive your library card.

 

Getting a card – Child (under 16)

Come to the Library and bring:

  • Your parent or guardian – we need their signature
  • ID which shows your parent/guardian’s name and signature

You can fill out an online registration form. You will be given a temporary ID number; bring this number and your ID to the Library to receive your library card.

You will need to bring your library card with you each time you want to borrow an item. This card and items borrowed on it are your or your parent/guardian’s responsibility.

You can use your card at:

  • Central Library
  • Pinehaven Library
  • Mobile Library

 

Membership Conditions

As a member of the Upper Hutt City Library you agree to the following

  • To return all items in good condition and on time.

  • To pay any overdue, damaged or lost charges.

  • To notify the Library of any change of address, phone number or email address.

  • To notify the Library immediately if your card is lost or stolen.

  • From time to time, the Library may contact you with information on its products and services.

  • To abide by the Library’s Code of Conduct.As parent/guardian, to take full responsibility for a child’s use of the Library. 

  • You allow your personal information to be used in accordance with the Upper Hutt City Council’s Privacy Statement, which will enable access to library services and may be provided to a debt collection agency who acts on behalf of the Upper Hutt City Council in the event that attempts to settle outstanding charges are unsuccessful.
