Is the Library open in Level 2?

Yes both branches of Upper Hutt Libraries are open in Level 2, Central and Pinehaven.

Opening Hours are as per normal, and can be viewed here.

The Mobile Library will not be running during Covid-19 levels.

 

How long can I stay at the Library?

Visits to the Library are limited to 30mins during level 2.

We encourage customers to use our Click & Collect service, come alone where possible and bring a list.

 

When can I return my Library items?

Returns Slots are now open, but please don't rush to return them. Loans have been extended to 30 June.

There are no overdue fines during this time. Please return your items outside, before entering the Library.

Returned items will be quarantined for 3 days.

Can I pick up my Holds?

Yes holds are available for collection when the Libraries reopen.

You can also order items through our Click & Collect service.

How do I use Click & Collect?

Search the catalogue to place a Hold, we'll be in touch when your items are ready for collection.

What can I browse in the Library?

Books are available for browsing in the Library. 

Newspapers, magazines, DVD's, CD's, picture books, board-books, tadpole readers, Maori and Pacific collections, audiobooks and puzzle books are unavailable for browsing.

Magazines, DVD's and CD's can be ordered through our Click & Collect service.

Newspapers are unvailable for browsing in the library, but photocopies of the crossword sections are available for pick up in the Library.

Grab a Bag for the kiddies!

Bags will be full of picture books, board-books and tadpole readers.

No need to order just pick one up on your visit to the Library.

Is wifi available?

Yes, wifi will be available in the Library during Level 2.

Please be aware that visits to the Library are limited to 30mins, during level 2.

Can I use a chromebook?

We have a limited amount of Chromebooks and seating available in the Library.

Chromebooks will be cleaned after each use.

 

 

Can I print and scan?

Printing/photocopying and scanning are available, but staff assistance will be limited due to Level 2 physical distancing procedures in place.

Can I study at the Library?

There are limited study spaces available in the library under Level 2. 

Will there be events at the Library?

There are no programmes or events running in the Library during Level 2.
