Shortened issue periods for popular hold items: To reduce wait times on popular materials, we are reducing the loan period to two weeks for items with five or more holds on them. This will hopefully ensure that customers do not have to wait any longer than three months for their hold to be filled.

Holds / Reserves

Place a hold by using a form in the Library or searching the online catalogue, and we will reserve the item for you for a limited time.

Holds are free of charge.

Borrowing FAQ

  • There is no limit to the amount borrowed on full adult, junior and community group memberships. If someone wishes to borrow all items on a subject, we may ask you, in fairness to other library users, to limit your selection
  • Parents are responsible for items taken out on their children’s cards
  • Items may be renewed once if there is no request on the item
  • CDs and DVDs will incur an additional charge
  • Overdue fees are charged from the day after an item was due
  • Notices are sent out after the item has been overdue three days

For more information about our borrowing services, email us or phone (04) 527-2117.
