Have you been wondering about how to keep track of what you have borrowed before?

The computer software we upgraded to last year offers some quick and simple ways to check all the items you have had on loan before.

Read on for a list of tips on finding information about your loan history.

Use the Upper Hutt Libraries app

Download our app to keep track of your library account anytime, anywhere!

You can easily see a list of previous loans from the Loan History tab. When you search items on the app, it will alert you if you have borrowed something before.

Did you know? If you have the app on your phone, you don’t need to bring your physical Library Card when you visit us. The app holds a digital image of your card, making borrowing quick and simple anytime you visit.

Log into My Account in the catalogue

Check your loan history via My Account in the online catalogue. You can log in anytime on your laptop, tablet, phone, or one of the desktop computers at our library branches.

You will need your Library Card number and account PIN/password to log in.

When you're logged in, go to the History tab in the menu on the left-hand side.

To make your borrowing history even quicker to search, you can sort your information by author, title, or date!

Special tip: Log into My Account before you start searching. This way, the catalogue will alert you directly in your search results list to items you have previously borrowed.

The image below shows you an example where the borrower is logged in. You can see they have previously borrowed the large print copy of Jacinda Ardern's biography. One thing to note: Unfortunately, the online catalogue doesn’t consider the regular print edition the same as the large print edition, as they are listed on separate catalogue records.

Merge your SMART accounts

Upper Hutt Libraries joined the SMART libraries network in May. If you belong to more than one library in the Wellington region, some of your borrowing history may be on another card.

We can merge all your SMART accounts into your Upper Hutt account, to make your full loan information easy to check. This may affect your eBook account if you use Libby.

Ask our team for more information about merging accounts.

Ask our team

If technology isn’t your thing, our staff are always happy to issue your items at the service desk. We will let you know when the system alerts us that you’ve previously borrowed an item.

We’re also happy to show you how to use the app or any of the above ways to keep track of your borrowing history. Next time you visit us, ask our team and we will walk you through the options step by step.
