No, you don't need to book in before you visit us.

However, please note that there is very high demand for this service. The lawyer will triage enquiries, and may not be able to see every client on the day.

To book remote advice via phone or email, visit the Community Law website.

When you come in, please fill in the Client Interview Sheet provided at the Library  (or download and print below) and hand it to the lawyer when you are finished.

During the session, after triage, the lawyer will let you know when they're ready to see you. 

No, we only have one session on Monday afternoons. If that day and time doesn't suit you, you have the following options to get help from Community Law:

• Call and leave a message on (04) 499 2928, and someone from their team will contact you back.
• Fill in the contact form on the Community Law website. 
• Contact the Upper Hutt Citizens Advice Bureau on (04) 528 9040 to check the day and time of their next free legal clinic.

There are some legal services which Community Law does not cover:

• preparing and witnessing wills, POA (powers of attorney), separation or relationship property agreements;
• land or property transactions, and administering estates; and
• advising landlords, employers, and businesses.
