Updates and Changes to Library Programmes

As we get ready to say goodbye to 2023 and welcome 2024, we have some exciting upcoming programmes for all ages. Remember to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for future updates.

Some of our regular programmes and services will be coming to an end for the year before they re-start again in 2024. 

We bid our farewell to our wonderful team of Learning Support Coordinators who held their last session on 4 December. They are moving their services out of Central Library and will be based out of UHub on Geange Street in 2024.

We are also saying our farewell to our 500 Card Club who will be holding their last session on 10 December and this programme will not be returning in 2024.

Our Justice of the Peace  will continue through the holidays on Thursdays.

Learning Support Coordinators
Last session was on 4 December 2023 and will operate out of their new office in UHub on Geange Street in 2024.

Soil Health Checks
Last session is on 22 December 2023 and will be returning on 5 January 2024.

Genealogy
Last session is on 11 December 2023 and will be returning on 8 January 2024.

IRD Pop-up Sessions
Last session is on 14 December 2023 and will be returning on 11 January 2024.

Community Law
Last session is on 18 December 2023 and will be returning on 15  January 2024.

Talk Digital
Last session is on 14 December 2023 and will be returning on 22 January 2024.

Connected
Last session is on 18 December 2023 and will be returning on 29 January 2024.

Mayor’s Hot Seat
Last session was on 6 December 2023 and will be returning on 07 February 2024.

Last session is on 10 December 2023 and this programme will not be returning in 2024.

Paper Craft Creations
Last session was on 05 December 2023 and will be returning on 09 January 2024.

Poetry Discussion Group
Last session is on 21 December 2023 and will be returning on 18 January 2024.

Upper Hutt Writes
Last session is on 16 December 2023 and will be returning on 20 January 2024.

Family History Group

Last session is on 17 December 2023 and will be returning on 21 January 2024.

It’s Write Easy
Last session is on 8 December 2023 and will be returning on 09 February 2024.

SeniorNet
Last session was on 5 December 2023 and will be returning on 13 February 2024.

Upper Hutt Local History Group
Last session is on 22 November 2023 and will be returning on 28 February 2024.

UH Ukes
Last session was 7 December 2023 and will be returning in February 2024. Exact date will be confirmed in the new year.

Children and Teens

The Little, Big, and Even Bigger Read will take place from 01 December 2023 to 31 January 2024.

U-PLAY Summer Holiday Events will take place from 08 January 2024 to 28 January 2024.

The Hell Pizza Reading Challenge
The last day to redeem the pizza wheels will be on 31 January 2024.

Story Tots
Last session is on 14 December 2023 and will be returning on 16 January 2024 at Pinehaven Library and 17 January at Central Library.

Tech Titans
Last session of 2023 has already taken place and will be returning on 20 February 2024.

The Art Hive
Last session of 2023 has already taken place and will be returning in February 2024 once the school term begins.
